Meet Our Pastor & First Lady

Rev. Clarence D. Hill was born and raised in Robersonville, North Carolina… or “North Cackalacka”, as he’s known to call it. In 1973, he enlisted in the United States Army and 9 years later, while stationed in Schweinfurt, Germany, was ordained a Deacon. It was during his tenure in Schweinfut, that Rev. Hill accepted God’s call into the ministry and in 1986, while stationed in Ft. McClellan, Alabama, he was licensed and ordained to preach the gospel and became the Pastor of Ft. McClellan Gospel Service.

After returning to Germany in 1987, Rev. Hill served as the Pastor of Erlangen National Baptist Church until returning to the U.S. in 1993. While in Germany, he founded a non-profit organization called the Pillars of Ministry. The Pillars of Ministry is a network of ministers from churches across area, who are dedicated to meeting the physical, social, and spiritual needs of the communities where we live, work, and serve.

Shortly after Pastor Hill returned to the U.S. for his final military assignment at Fort Gordon, Georgia, he became affiliated with the Gospel Water Branch Baptist Church in Martinez, Georgia. Two years later, in 1995, Rev. Hill was elected the pastor of Mt. Transfiguration Baptist Church.

Immediately after, Rev. Hill began working to implement the ministries required to meet the needs of the church and the community; in 2007, he re-established the CSRA chapter of the Pillars of Ministry. Under his leadership, Mt. Transfiguration Baptist Church has seen tremendous growth in membership and stewardship. The love of God is clearly seen in the way he nurtures his congregation to reach out and apply that love within the community.

He is a very gifted and anointed speaker. His knowledge of scripture, coupled with his great ability to communicate effectively, is the hallmark of his ministry. He is committed to the spiritual growth of those seeking a deeper walk with the Lord and those who need the message of salvation, healing, and deliverance though Jesus Christ.
